Repairs Apprentice

We are recruiting for a Repairs Apprentice to join our Property Services Team at Horton Housing Association.

The role is 35 hours per week, including one college day. The pay is £8 per hour. As part of the apprenticeship, you will complete a college course that accounts for 20% of your time. You will learn from and assist the maintenance team with repairs and general upkeep of properties and grounds owned or managed by Horton Housing.

• Assist maintenance Operatives with repairs and general upkeep of properties and grounds.
• Learn and apply maintenance and building related skills on the job.
• Complete the college course required for the apprenticeship.

• 6 weeks annual leave, plus bank holidays.
• Access to a Blue Light Card.
• Company pays for travel to college on designated study days.
• Horton Housing is accredited ‘Investors In People (Standard)’ and is a Disability Confident and Clean Sheet Employer.

• Reasonable verbal or written communication skills.
• Motivation to develop maintenance and building related skills and to put learning into practice.
• Motivation to learn about maintenance work.
• Willingness and ability to follow direction and guidance.
• Willingness to undertake the academic training required for the apprenticeship.
• Willingness to undertake additional training to further knowledge and skills relating to the post.
