Director of Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance

CSL is seeking a Director of Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance to lead technical operations supporting our biotechnology and plasma derived therapies. This role oversees manufacturing engineering, maintenance, reliability, and capital projects to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient production. You will define strategy for equipment lifecycle, automation, and continuous improvement while ensuring GMP compliance and inspection readiness. Partnering with global and site leaders, you'll develop high performing teams, optimize plant performance, manage budgets, and drive innovation in a highly regulated, patient focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing engineering, maintenance, and reliability for biotech production operations
• Develop and execute strategy for equipment lifecycle, automation, and capital projects
• Ensure GMP compliance, safety, and inspection readiness across all manufacturing assets
• Drive continuous improvement, OEE, and cost optimization initiatives
• Oversee maintenance programs, asset management, and technical documentation
• Manage budgets, resource planning, and vendor/contractor relationships
• Collaborate with quality, EHS, operations, and global engineering partners
• Develop, mentor, and performance manage a high performing technical team
• Support technology transfers, scale up, and introduction of new equipment
• Report operational metrics and risk mitigation plans to senior leadership
