Pay Range: $25–$40 per hour, depending on experience, certifications, and technical skill set
Midwest Integrated Solutions is seeking an experienced Security Installation Technician to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician with a strong background installing and supporting integrated electronic security systems in commercial, industrial, healthcare, and education environments.
Position OverviewThe Security Installation Technician is responsible for the installation, termination, testing, and commissioning of low-voltage security systems. Candidates should be comfortable working independently or as part of a team and have experience working on projects for a security systems integrator.
Required Experience & Skills- Minimum 5 years of experience installing electronic security systems
- Access Control systems
- Infant Security systems
- Other integrated low-voltage security systems
- Experience working for a systems integrator strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and scope documents
- Proficient with:
- Cat6 and Composite cabling (pulling, terminating, testing)
- Panels, power supplies, and head-end equipment
- Comfortable working from ladders and lifts (including outdoor installs)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Install, terminate, and test security system devices and cabling
- Mount cameras, readers, intercoms, and related hardware
- Perform system testing, commissioning, and basic programming support
- Maintain accurate documentation and labeling
- Coordinate with project managers, customers, and other trades on-site
- Adhere to safety standards and company installation best practices
- Represent Midwest Integrated Solutions professionally on customer sites
- Experience in healthcare, school, or industrial environments
- Familiarity with IP networking concepts
- Lift certification or experience working from boom/scissor lifts
