** Job Description
** Serve as a liaison between Upward Bound participants in five high schools in the grant target areas of Mille Lacs, Crow Wing, and Morrison counties and Central Lakes College (CLC) to support the mission of helping participants successfully graduate high school and attend a post-secondary institution.
** Salary Range:**$23.98-$34.69/hr, $50, annually
** Minimum Qualifications
*** Two (2) years of experience in advising, enrollment services, or a related field. Master’s degree may substitute for 18 months of experience;
Bachelor’s degree may substitute for one year of experience; or Associate’s degree may substitute for six months of experience.
* Knowledge of college academic and/or student programs sufficient to develop and integrate appropriate and supportive initiatives, including retention.
* Ability to work effectively with students from diverse and traditionally underserved backgrounds with varied needs.
* Ability to maintain an active, valid, and applicable Class D (basic) driver’s license.
** Preferred Qualification
*** Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
* Knowledge of academic improvement and motivation methods.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully with a diverse population.
* Knowledge of CLC programs and curriculum to develop guidelines and goals with students, and implement new ways of presenting information to accommodate learning styles.
* Knowledge of institution and State policies and procedures and state and federal statute and regulations sufficient to ensure compliance in all facets of the academic program.
* Ability to use techniques to motivate students to learn life skills and be successful in the college setting.
* Ability to work with students in the areas of crisis intervention and problem solving.
* Knowledge of community resources whose services provide support of basic needs to individuals and families.
* Ability to work with educationally disadvantaged and multicultural youth.
