Job Description: Job Profile Summary
The laboratory supervisor oversees operations of the technical sections. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: managing staff and workflows, maintaining policies and procedures, conducting staff competency assessments, monitoring statistics and test utilization, fiscal responsibility, complying with regulatory standards and maintaining accreditation, and managing human resources according to Essentia Health guidelines. The supervisor must exhibit excellent customer service and teamwork to foster positive relationships with patients, coworkers, departments, and others.
The laboratory supervisor will collaborate with other departments and committees to maintain high‑level care while promoting Essentia Health’s mission and vision. Some supervisors may also manage the radiology department, if applicable.
Meets Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) guidelines for the complexity of laboratory testing.
Work Experience: 2 years of previous experience in a hospital or clinic laboratory.

Licensure/Certification
Qualifications:
Current American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent certification; maintains licensure as per state requirement.
