Shift & Schedule

Day shift – 7:00 am to 1:30 pm, Rotating Weekends and Holidays, Part time (36 hours bi-weekly). Additional weekend incentive of $1.25 an hour.

Pay

$15.00 – $17.00 per hour

Job Summary

Perform day‑to‑day tasks to maintain a clean environment in a health care organization. Work independently or in a team environment ensuring that equipment, methods, and techniques to handle laundry safely and appropriately are used, such as sorting, washing, chemical application, and water temperature control. Follow infection prevention guidelines for handling contaminated laundry per organizational and healthcare industry standards. Participate in laundry collection and sorting, as well as storage and distribution of clean laundry according to the facility’s standard processes and policies.

Responsibilities
  • Collect dirty linens (gowns, sheets, towels, blankets, personal clothing) from wards, rooms, and medical offices.
  • Wash, dry, fold linens and clothing, and complete proper labeling for the designated health care organization.
  • Store and secure laundry supplies and equipment.
  • Use personal protective equipment as outlined in the standard processes and policies.
  • Perform physical activities including lifting up to 30‑50 lbs and pushing/pulling up to 500 lbs on flat surfaces or ramps.
  • Remain on feet for the majority of the shift; may be exposed to noise from equipment.
  • Work overtime, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays as needed based on patient needs.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to use a computer.
  • Prior cleaning experience in a healthcare setting, knowledge of materials, equipment, and methods used in cleaning is helpful.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record required for some locations.
