Sterile Processing Technician​/Evenings

Position Overview

Essentia Health is hiring a Sterile Processing Technician eph’s Medical Center in Brainer, Minnesota. The tech will work rotating day and evening shifts Monday‑Friday with scheduled on‑call during every fifth weekend and holiday rotation.

• Reprocess reusable surgical instruments and patient care equipment for use in surgery and nursing units.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness and damage, ensuring safe, sterile supply to hospital staff.
• Maintain reliable attendance; support 8‑hour or longer shifts.
• Stand, walk, lift up to 25 lbs routinely, up to 50 lbs occasionally, and push/pull heavy carts.
• Use manual dexterity and hand‑eye coordination to handle delicate instruments.
• Work in a fast‑paced, noisy, and warm environment; wear PPE to protect from blood/body fluids, chemicals, and other hazards.

• No minimum education required.
• Preferred:
  Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) credential from HSPA.

• Hours per pay period: 80.
• Shift rotation:
  Day/Eve – 7:00 a.m./10:00 a.m./2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m./6:30 p.m./10:30 p.m.
• Weekly hours: 80.
• Compensation range: $19.46 – $26.17 per hour.
• Union:
  St. Joseph’s SEIU Local 113.
• Required on‑call:
  Every 5th weekend.

  Yes.
