Position Objective


* Successful candidates to be scheduled to start in May

Be part of our law enforcement team patrolling the lakes of Crow Wing County and educating individuals on boat and water safety. Under the direction of the Boat & Water Sergeant, the individuals will assist the boat & water deputies with their duties. This seasonal position will run from approximately May thru August.

This position will remain open until filled and may be used towards internship credit for law enforcement related schooling.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills Needed

• General knowledge and experience in the operation of motorized watercraft up to twenty (20) feet in length.
• Some public speaking experience
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to think clearly and act quickly in emergency situations.
• Ability to convert investigative notes into clear, concise reports.
• Knowledge of the geography of Crow Wing County

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Possess a valid state issued driver's license
• Submit copy of driver's license with application

Desirable Qualifications

• Preference will be given to those with experience and/or education in law enforcement.

Seasonal/Temporary employees typically do not receive any benefits, except PTO.
