Responsibilities- General golf course maintenance using hand tools and powered equipment.
- Operate walking and riding mowing equipment including greens mowers, tee mowers, fairway units, and rough mowers as assigned.
- Perform detailed tasks such as string trimming, edging, and debris cleanup.
- Operate various equipment including blowers, rollers, mowers, and turf maintenance machinery as assigned.
- Rake and maintain sand bunkers to established standards.
- Assist with daily course setup including cup cutting, tee marker placement, and other presentation duties.
- Assist with hand watering and irrigation‑related support as directed.
- Participate in cultural practices including aerification, topdressing, and related turf maintenance operations.
- Assist with project work including sod installation, trenching, plugging, and general course improvements.
- Operate utility vehicles for hauling materials and debris removal.
- Maintain flexibility to rotate between tasks and responsibilities based on course needs and staffing priorities.
- Operate equipment safely and remain aware of surrounding team members and work areas.
- Attend staff meetings and maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform additional duties as required to support golf course operations.
- Understand and adhere to Madden’s smoking and tobacco products policy.
- Weekend shifts are required at the discretion of the Assistant Superintendent.
- Assist with seasonal operations such as leaf cleanup, mulching, and storm‑related tasks.
- Takes pride in course presentation and understands how individual performance contributes to team success and overall course quality.
- Communications skills sufficient to converse with guests and other employees.
- Ability to work in a team and coordinate work functions with fellow workers.

Golf course knowledge is preferred but not required.
Certificates and LicensesValid driver’s license.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNone.
Work EnvironmentWork is performed mainly outside on golf courses.
Physical DemandsPrimarily walking or standing for prolonged periods of time. Must have the ability to stand, walk, talk/hear, both in person and by telephone, occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 50‑pound boxes and sometimes up to 100 pounds.
TravelLess than 10% travel required.
