Quality Control / Manager, Quality Technician/ Inspector
Barrett Petfood is hiring a Full Time Quality Supervisor in Brainerd, MN to lead our quality assurance team.

Salary & Work HoursSalary $55,000 – $65,000 per year, Monday‑Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Day to Day Responsibilities- Lead and support QA Technicians, serving as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting and acting as back‑up for QA roles as needed.
- Oversee onboarding and training of QA staff, manage scheduling and time‑keeping approvals, and ensure adequate QA coverage.
- Manage Quality Systems (SOPs, SSOPs, GMPs), SQF standards, internal audits, and quality control programs, including laboratory testing and data analysis.
- Oversee raw material and finished product testing, vendor compliance, batch record review, product release, and investigation of deviations.
- Maintain customer and product specifications, track quality data trends for continuous improvement, coordinate mock recalls, and support process improvements through research and technical quality operations.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, regulatory compliance, and a commitment to continuous improvement across the facility.
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, food safety, or a related field, or comparable experience in food manufacturing.
- Experience in SQF or other GFSI food programs (required).
- Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and email for reporting and analysis.
- Technical understanding of product inspections and testing methods, including protein, moisture, fat, and microbiological tests.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for conveying complex information to management, vendors, and suppliers.
- Attention to detail in reviewing documentation and ensuring data accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively and objectively with production staff while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
- Commitment to regulatory compliance and continuous improvement practices.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the factory.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
