Brainerd Mill QA Tech 2nd/3rd Shifts

Located in the scenic Brainerd, MN, this onsite position offers the opportunity to work in a lively environment where innovation and safety are prioritized. With a competitive pay range of $22.00 - $25.50 per hour, depending on experience and shift differential. Each day presents new challenges, allowing you to showcase your skills and grow in an exciting industry.

Openings available Mon - Fri on 2 shifts:

  • 2nd Shift: 2PM - 10:30PM
  • 3rd Shift: 10PM - 6:30AM

To excel as a Quality Mill Technician at Barrett Petfood, you'll need a strong foundation in basic math, biology, and chemistry to accurately assess and analyze product quality. A keen attention to detail is essential for identifying deviations from our strict GMPs and safety protocols, ensuring that every ingredient and finished product adheres to our high standards. Effective teamwork and communication skills are crucial, as you'll collaborate with various departments to promote a culture of quality and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and sample incoming grains and raw materials for quality and contamination risks
  • Verify flour grind specifications
  • Sample collection and testing. Perform analytical testing (GA analysis, mycotoxin screening)
  • Maintain lab equipment and cleanliness
  • Monitor critical control points (CCPs) and preventive controls
  • Document and review production records for accuracy and compliance
  • Investigate non-conformances and support corrective actions
  • Ensures and verifies that plant departments and employees are adhering to the quality standards and guidelines of the company.
  • Actively monitors, and enforces company GMP's
  • Prepare and maintain departmental forms and documents. Monitor the completion of paperwork by other departments.

Physical requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
