NorthPoint Aviation is seeking a Aircraft Maintenance Shop Manager to join our professional trained maintenance team in our FAA approved Part 145 Repair Station. NorthPoint Aviation is a full-service fixed base operation (FBO), providing aircraft fuel sales, aircraft sales and acquisition, light & heavy aircraft maintenance, avionics repair & installation, aircraft management services,flight training & aircraft rental, scenic flights and line services.

NorthPoint Aviation's FAA Approved Part 145 Repair Station is authorized to perform maintenance on all aircraft manufactured under 12,500 pounds gross weight and is also a Cirrus Aircraft, Cessna, & Beechcraft Service Center. NorthPoint Aviation is conveniently located atthe Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport (KBRD) in Brainerd, MN.The Brainerd Lakes area of Minnesota is a premier area known for world-class golfing, fishing, hunting, boating, biking, snowmobiling, Kayaking including more than 500 lakes and rivers as well as beautiful parks and forests.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all company owned and customer aircraft are maintained in an airworthy condition and returned to service in a timely fashion and in accordance with appropriate NorthPoint Aviation’s FAA Part 145 Repair Station Procedures.
  • Provide customers with technical support and customer service on a daily basis including current airworthy status of their aircraft, forecast of down times to facilitate maintenance scheduling and ensure timely deferral or correction of their aircraft's discrepancies.
  • Ensure all NorthPoint Aviation maintenance technicians are properly certified, trained and supervised according to current FARs and NorthPoint Aviation’s FAA Part 145

    Repair Station Procedures.
  • Lead aircraft maintenance technician teamby continually demonstrating proper aircraft maintenance techniques on aircraft being maintained within NorthPoint Aviation’s maintenance facility on a daily basis.
  • Create and implement a framework of policies and procedures that advance the company’s safety objectives as directed by the General Manager.
  • Promote a team atmosphere by closely working together with all other NorthPoint Aviation’s departments,aircraft manufacturer's representatives, part's suppliers, FAA approved repair stations, FAA representatives and sub-contractors.
  • Demonstrate a visible commitment to employee and client well-being, and promoting a safety culture within the aircraft maintenance department.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations to General Manager about aircraft maintenance department equipment, tooling and technical data needs.
  • Perform necessary functions for hiring, evaluating and terminating aircraft maintenance personnel.
  • Must be able to perform all maintenance functions unsupervised, at any time.
  • Mustbe reliable,self-motivated and promote a positive,professional image for NorthPoint Aviation.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must have a current Airframe and Powerplant Certificate. Inspection Authorization is recommended, however not required.
  • Must have at least 5 years of hands on General Aviation maintenance experience working with piston single and twin engine aircraft as well as turbo propeller and small corporate jet aircraft.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills and above average computer skills and proficiency.(i.e., Microsoft, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.)
  • Must be familiar with and be able to read and understand manufacturer's maintenance manuals, Service Bulletins & Letters, FAA Airworthiness Directives and FAA Regulations & policies.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, drug test, employment verifications, and I9/E-Verify.
