A growing organization in the senior living and property management space is seeking a Property Accountant to join its accounting team due to continued portfolio expansion. This role is responsible for the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of properties, with a strong focus on month-end close, general ledger management, and financial statement preparation. The position reports directly to the Director of Accounting and collaborates with a small team of accounting professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage full-cycle accounting for an assigned portfolio of properties
  • Perform month-end close activities including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Maintain and analyze general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances
  • Partner with operations teams to address financial questions and support property performance analysis
  • Assist with annual audits and provide requested documentation
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and accounting standards
  • Support process improvements and ad hoc projects as needed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3–5+ years of property accounting or real estate accounting experience
  • Experience working with an ERP system used in property management (Yardi strongly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple properties and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Stable work history with demonstrated tenure preferred
