This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join a modern, growing firm in Braintree. You’ll work with a diverse portfolio of clients, manage accounting projects from start to finish, and play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality client service.

As Senior Accountant, you’ll take responsibility for managing your own portfolio while supporting managers and directors across a broad range of clients. You’ll be involved in preparing and reviewing financial statements, providing insights to business owners, and supporting junior team members in their professional development.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing year-end accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
• Preparing management accounts and financial reports
• Completing corporation tax computations and supporting tax planning projects
• Reviewing work completed by junior team members and offering constructive feedback
• Supporting clients with accounting queries, systems, and processes
• Building long-term client relationships through excellent service and communication
• Assisting with the implementation of digital accounting tools and cloud software

You’ll be a confident and proactive accounting professional with a passion for client service and quality.

You will:

• Be ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified (or qualified by experience)
• Have at least 3 years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and corporation tax principles
• Be experienced with software such as Xero, Quick Books, or Sage
• Possess excellent communication and organisational skills
• Be comfortable managing multiple deadlines and projects
• Be enthusiastic about mentoring junior staff and contributing to the firm’s success
