Job Overview
Withum’s Auditing and Attest Engagement services are the cornerstone of our firm. This Audit Manager role will work exclusively with Withum’s Not‑For‑Profit Industry team and can be based out of our Braintree, MA office.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the engagement team staff on planning and execution of audit, review, or compilation engagements.
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations of audit engagements from staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting and conclusion.
- Supervise and support engagement staff, seniors and supervisors and promote open communication with the engagement partner.
- Collaborate with senior team members and partners on client issue resolution and provide recommendations for legal, regulatory and accounting matters arising during engagements.
- Manage multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines.
- Create and track engagement budgets, review for inefficiencies, conduct constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and provide counsel accordingly.
- Serve in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and CPA license.
- At least 5 years of public accounting experience, including leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
- Prior auditing experience with Not‑For‑Profit companies preferred but not required.
- Excellent analytical, technical and auditing skills with familiarity with US GAAP.
- Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects.
- Strong leadership, training and mentoring skills, combined with excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail and proven innovative problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to travel as needed based on client assignments.
The compensation for this position ranges from $120,000–$195,000. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance.
