Manager, Regulatory Affairs & Market Strategy
Position OverviewOur client, a leading organization in the energy and power sector, is seeking a Regulatory Affairs & Market Strategy professional to support and execute key regulatory, legislative, and market development initiatives. This individual will play a critical role in monitoring industry trends, influencing policy outcomes, and identifying opportunities that support the company's strategic growth objectives
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support regulatory and market strategy efforts, including market design initiatives, interconnection matters, and business development opportunities
- Monitor evolving regulatory frameworks, legislative developments, and industry trends impacting power generation and energy markets
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to evaluate and advance strategic initiatives
- Manage third‑party consultants and advisors, ensuring project alignment, accountability, and successful execution
- Represent the organization before industry groups, trade associations, and relevant stakeholder forums
- Track and engage in state and local legislative and regulatory proceedings across designated markets
- Develop recommendations and analysis to support business decisions and long‑term growth strategies
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
- Prior experience within the power generation, energy, utility, or wholesale electricity markets sector
- Strong knowledge of competitive electricity markets and market structures
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex regulatory and market issues and communicate findings effectively
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to learn, contribute, and grow within a dynamic organization
- Highly organized and detail‑oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel approximately 20–30% as needed
- Successful completion of a pre‑employment background and financial credit screening
- Base salary range: $120,000 - $140,000, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and location
- Annual performance‑based bonus opportunity of up to 25%
