Position: Coordinator of Religious Education (FT), St. Michael's Parish, Hudson, MA
Saint Michael Parish is seeking a passionate and mission-driven individual to serve as Coordinator of Religious Education. This full-time position plays a vital role in proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and forming families to live out their faith in the context of daily life. The ideal candidate will inspire and
equip parents and children to embrace their role as disciples, with a particular focus on faith formation for Grades 1-8, which number about 100 children. This is an in-person position at the parish office in Hudson.

Summary:
As a key member of the Pastoral Staff, the Coordinator of Religious Education reports to the Pastor/Administrator and is responsible for developing and implementing a faith formation curriculum. This is an opportunity to choose a curriculum and build a new program. It should seek to engage both
children and parents through interactive sessions and sacramental preparation. The CRE collaborates with parish staff, volunteers, and families to build a vibrant culture of faith, discipleship, and evangelization.

Key Responsibilities

• In partnership with the Pastor/Administrator, deacons, pastoral staff, and dedicated volunteers, develop and lead a comprehensive faith formation program for children in Grades 1-8 that also engages parents.
• Coordinate sacramental preparation for Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation.
• Foster a parish culture of family engagement through events, seasonal activities, and faith-building opportunities that complement the formation program.
• Recruit, train, and support catechists and volunteers with appropriate formation and resources.
• Collaborate with counterparts from a parallel faith formation program hael's for the Brazilian affiliated parishioners for parish events and sacraments such as Confirmation.
• Ensure adherence to Archdiocesan safe environment policies, including CORI background checks and Protecting God's Children training.
• Participate in weekly staff meetings, ongoing professional development, and formation opportunities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor/Administrator.

Qualifications

• A practicing Catholic in good standing with a strong personal commitment to the mission of evangelization and catechesis.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in theology, Religious Education, Pastoral Ministry, or a related
• field.
• At least 2-3 years of relevant experience
• Strong understanding of Catholic teaching and the ability to communicate it clearly to children and adults.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with clergy, staff, volunteers, and families.
• Proficiency with office applications such as Microsoft office - Word and Excel, Google applications such Calendar; familiarity with Parish Soft or other parish management software is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds for event setup needs and stand for extended periods.
