Job Description

The Braintree Public School District is seeking a Specialized Para educator for the ABLES Program at Liberty Elementary School. The ABLES program serves students with significant global developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, or intellectual impairments.

Responsibilities

Primary instructional support: delivery of discrete trial training, pivotal response training, natural environment teaching with continuous data collection, and task‑analyzed chaining procedures.

Assist students with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as toileting, feeding, mobility, and other supports for students who are not developmentally typical.

Deliver safety management and physical intervention as part of a student’s positive behavior support plan using the district’s Safety Care program. Para educator must complete Safety Care certification.

Reinforce and instruct learning with individual and small groups of students under the direction of the classroom teacher or specialist.

Assist in observing, data collection, and the use of positive behavior supports, including token economy systems, point charts, etc.

Demonstrate dependability, integrity, and respect for student differences and uphold high standards of conduct.

Support the creation and maintenance of an inclusive, student‑focused, and culturally proficient learning environment.

Maintain strict ethical standards of student and family confidentiality.

Assist professional staff in maintaining appropriate school behavior and discipline.

Job Requirements
