Job Description
Middle School Math Teacher – a full‑time, salaried position to teach 6th‑8th grade Math. Reports to the Middle School Director.
Responsibilities- Teach a combination of Math classes (four classes total). Possible courses include 6th grade math, Pre‑algebra, Algebra 1, and Geometry.
- Serve as an advisor.
- Lead one afternoon program in the arts for one or more seasons or coach an afternoon sport.
- Apply practices that foster equity, inclusion, and belonging within the Thayer Academy community.
- Engage in ongoing professional development.
- Bachelor's degree required; master’s (or higher) in Education, Math, or related field preferred.
- Three to five years of Middle School teaching experience preferred.
- Passion for working with middle schoolers and desire to build relationships.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive community.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion practices in the classroom, curriculum, and relationships with school community members.
- High level of comfort and experience with technology in an educational setting.
- Willingness to work on a collaborative team and department.
- Ability to communicate and listen effectively with students and families.
- Experience with Design Thinking or Project Based Learning curriculum development.
- Experience with Responsive Classrooms or other SEL curriculum and training.
- Develop skills alongside an experienced Middle School Director, faculty, and leadership team.

$70,000 – $86,000.
