Salary Range: $74,345.00 - $90,000.00

• Teach 5 French classes to Middle School students
• Serve as an advisor for the 7th grade
• Lead the World Languages Department as Department Chair (if applicable)
• Apply practices in the classroom and other settings that foster equity, inclusion, and belonging among Thayer Academy community members
• Engage in ongoing professional development

• Participate in ongoing curricular review, documentation, and horizontal/vertical alignment as led by MS Associate Director for Academics
• Train new department members regarding the Academy’s standards, policies, and procedures
• Assist in observing and evaluating department members with MS Director, MS Associate Director for Academics and Assistant Head of School for Academics
• Encourage/recommend professional growth opportunities and support the inquiry goals process for each department member

• Developing your skills alongside an experienced Middle School Director, faculty, and leadership team

• A bachelor’s degree is required;
  Master’s (or higher) preferred in Education, French, or a related field
• 5-7 years of teaching experience at the Middle School level preferred
• Passion for working with middle schoolers and a desire to build relationships
• Commitment to working in and fostering an inclusive community
• Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion practices in the classroom, in curriculum, and in relationships with members of the school community
• High level of comfort and experience with technology in an educational setting
• Willingness to work on a team in a collaborative department
• Ability to communicate and listen effectively with students and families

• Experience with Design Thinking or project-based learning curriculum development
• Experience with Responsive Classrooms or other SEL curriculum and training
• Willingness to incorporate metacognition into lessons

Salary Range: $74,345 - $90,000. Competitive salary and benefits.
