Key Information

• Pay: £23,250-£30,756, depending on experience and qualifications

You will work alongside teachers and support staff to help students aged 9‑16 access learning, develop confidence, and engage positively with school life. You will support students with complex needs who may struggle to self‑regulate, and you must be able to drive to commute between sites in and around Totnes.

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for students with SEMH (Maths & English)
• Assist with classroom activities and learning tasks
• Encourage positive behaviour and emotional development
• Create a calm, structured, and nurturing environment

The school caters to pupils aged 9–16 whose needs cannot be met in mainstream education. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) related to Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. • Must be able to drive and commute between multiple sites
• Must be suitably qualified for the role and prepared to attend a face‑to‑face interview
• Must provide an up‑to‑date DBS check, or allow Axcis to process one on your behalf, in line with DfE guidelines
• The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 for roles involving children or vulnerable adults
