Middle School French Teacher

Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment firm, is currently seeking a Middle School French Teacher starting in Fall 2026 at an independent school in Braintree, MA.

• Teach five French courses at various proficiency levels for middle school students.
• Develop engaging lesson plans and curricula tailored to the needs and skill levels of individual students.
• Lead department staff in the delivery of an engaging and meaningful educational experience across grades 5-8.
• Teach French language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through a variety of instructional methods.
• Create opportunities for students to practice conversational French and improve pronunciation and comprehension.
• Organize fun events where students can showcase their French language skills.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress and behavior.
• Participate in regular professional development activities to stay current with best practices and innovation in language education.
• Serve as a 7th grade advisor, providing guidance to support their success and development.
• Train, observe, and evaluate department staff to ensure high-quality instruction, professional growth, and alignment with school standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in French, Linguistics, Education, or related required. Master's degree preferred.
• Proven written and verbal proficiency in French.
• 5-7 years of previous middle school teaching experience.
• No teaching license or credential is required.
• Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
• Organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community.
• Willingness to assist with extracurricular and school community activities.

• Knowledge of ACTFL standards preferred.
