French Teacher Responsibilities- Teach five French courses at various proficiency levels for middle school students.
- Develop engaging lesson plans and curricula tailored to the needs and skill levels of individual students.
- Lead department staff in the delivery of an engaging and meaningful educational experience across grades 5-8.
- Teach French language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through a variety of instructional methods.
- Create opportunities for students to practice conversational French and improve pronunciation and comprehension.
- Organize fun events where students can showcase their French language skills.
- Communicate with parents regarding student progress and behavior.
- Participate in regular professional development activities to stay current with best practices and innovation in language education.
- Serve as a 7th grade advisor, providing guidance to support their success and development.
- Train, observe, and evaluate department staff to ensure high-quality instruction, professional growth, and alignment with school standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in French, Linguistics, Education, or related required. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven written and verbal proficiency in French.
- 5-7 years of previous middle school teaching experience.
- No teaching license or credential is required.
- Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community.
- Willingness to assist with extracurricular and school community activities.
- Knowledge of ACTFL standards preferred.
