Special Education Teacher In The Learning Center

Braintree High School is seeking a dedicated and qualified candidate to join our team as a Special Education Teacher in the Learning Center. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the academic and overall growth of high school students whose primary needs are related to learning disabilities.

Teachers in the Learning Center provide instruction designed to support students' individual needs. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong special education practice, skill in differentiation, and a commitment to fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. Must be licensed in Moderate Disabilities 5-12, and possess SEI Endorsement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement individualized instruction aligned with students' IEP goals and grade-level standards
• Provide targeted instruction in specific areas of need, executive functioning, and behavioral skill development
• Collaborate with content teachers, administrators, school psychologists, and other support staff
• Maintain compliance with all special education requirements, including IEP meetings, implementation, progress monitoring, and documentation
• Communicate effectively with families, general education staff, and administrators regarding student progress
• Foster a positive, structured, and predictable classroom environment that promotes emotional safety, accountability, and growth

Qualifications

• Massachusetts teaching license in Moderate Disabilities, 5-12
• Experience working with all aspects of the IEP process
• Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and high expectations for all learners

Salary:
Salary scale can be found in the BEA Collective Bargaining Agreement's recent MOA.
