Position Summary
Electrical Engineering Technician for Ultra Maritime supports the hardware development lifecycle and production of state‑of‑the‑art sonar and radar products for the U.S. Navy and other navies worldwide.
Key Responsibilities- Build, assemble, wire, and test electronic systems, modules, and prototypes for maritime defense applications.
- Maintain equipment, organize lab work spaces, and enforce safety and configuration control practices.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and engineering drawings.
- Train and provide support to lower‑level staff.
- Diagnose, repair, and test complex electronic subsystems with support from engineering.
- Perform electrical testing, data collection, instrumentation setup, and troubleshoot circuits and components.
- Collaborate closely with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers to support project goals.
- Participate in occasional travel (up to 15%) for field testing, training, and customer support.
- Excellent soldering skills.
- Ability to interpret schematics, diagrams, and engineering documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security clearance (Clearances are only granted to U.S. citizens).
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 6+ years of related experience.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) or a related technical degree.
- Experience supporting DoD, Navy, or defense electronics.
- Familiarity with MIL‑STD electronics, EMI/EMC considerations, or ruggedized systems.
- Knowledge of cable harnessing, PCB rework, or prototype fabrication.
- Experience with test instrumentation automation or data acquisition systems.
- J‑STD‑001 certification.
- IPC‑A‑620 certification.
- Exposure to AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems.
- Experience with prototype fabrication, test fixtures, or environmental testing.
Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Normal finger dexterity and normal color vision. Capable of occasionally lifting 40 pounds waist‑high without assistance.
Expected CompensationThe expected compensation range for this role is $67,496.00–$84,344.00.
