This role as a Wellbeing and Activities Assistant at Avery Healthcare's Braintree Mews Care Home in Braintree focuses on supporting the Wellbeing Coordinator in providing a wide range of activities to engage and stimulate the residents' physical, cognitive, and social well-being. The successful candidate will demonstrate effective communication skills, a positive attitude towards older people, and a commitment to providing quality activities and social events.
Responsibilities- Support the Wellbeing Coordinator in providing a wide range of activities to engage and stimulate residents’ physical, cognitive, and social well‑being.
- Maintain a safe living and working environment, contributing to the positive and professional image of the home.
- Report any changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition to the Wellbeing and Activity Coordinator, Home Manager, and care staff.
- Support ordering and preparing supplies for upcoming activities as directed.
- Establish links with local community (e.g., schools, spiritual groups, museums/libraries) to encourage access to the wider community and promote intergenerational activity.
- Shift details:
Week 1 – 4 shifts;
Week 2 – 5 shifts.
- Have effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the role interaction plays in the general well‑being of people.
- Have a positive attitude toward older people and a commitment to providing stimulating, quality activities and social events.
- Have previously worked with older people in a residential nursing dementia setting.

Requirements- ADBS Disclosure check (cost covered by Avery Healthcare).
- Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
