Main duties of the job

As a Wellbeing and Activities Coordinator at Braintree Mews Care Home, your focus will be to provide a variety of activities that engage and stimulate the residents' overall well‑being. You'll understand the importance of promoting the principles of privacy, dignity, independence, choice, rights, and fulfillment for all residents. Other responsibilities include identifying residents' life histories, needs, and preferences, planning monthly activity and wellbeing plans, and arranging engaging events and outings.

We’re now looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual to join our award‑winning team as a Wellbeing and Activities Coordinator at Braintree Mews Care Home in Braintree. Your focus as Wellbeing and Activities Coordinator will be to provide a wide range of activities to engage and stimulate the residents' physical, psychological, and social well‑being and to understand the need to promote the philosophy of privacy, dignity, independence, choice, rights, and fulfilment for all residents.

  • Identifying the life history, needs, and preferences of residents by listening to them and their families to support the development of a detailed life story.
  • Planning and submitting to the Home Manager a monthly activity and wellbeing plan and a weekly overview.
  • Arranging activities, events, and outings, encouraging the involvement of staff, relatives, and visitors.
  • Maintaining a safe living and working environment, contributing to the positive and professional image of the home.

  • Previously worked with older people in a residential nursing or dementia setting.
  • Experience organising activities and events.
  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written.
