The Primary Therapist is a full time, on-site role based in Braintree, MA. This role is responsible for providing individual and group therapy to adults in addiction and mental health day treatment programs, using evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches. Day-to-day responsibilities include completing biopsychosocial assessments, developing and updating treatment plans, facilitating therapeutic groups, and coordinating care with multidisciplinary team members. The Primary Therapist will manage a clinical caseload, provide case management and discharge planning, and collaborate on dual diagnosis and chemical dependency treatment interventions.
The role also includes maintaining accurate clinical documentation, participating in team meetings and clinical reviews, and supporting a safe, inclusive, and recovery-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in Treatment Planning and Case Management, including assessment, goal setting, and care coordination.
- Knowledge and experience in Social Work practices, including advocacy, resource navigation, and support for diverse populations.
- Clinical experience with Chemical Dependency, substance use disorders, and related recovery frameworks.
- Competence in supporting individuals with Dual Diagnosis, integrating mental health and addiction treatment.
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field; licensure or license-eligible status in Massachusetts (e.g., LCSW, LICSW, LMHC) preferred.
- Training or experience in evidence-based modalities (e.g., DBT, EMDR, CBT) and trauma-informed care.
- Strong therapeutic communication skills, cultural humility, and the ability to build rapport with individuals in recovery.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and maintain thorough, compliant clinical documentation.
- Experience in day treatment, IOP, PHP, or similar levels of care is a plus.
