Entry Level Gas Line Safety Technician

We are looking for a dedicated Gas Line Safety Technician to join our team in New England, focusing on quality and safety in the utility industry.

Compensation
  • Start pay $24 per hour
  • Opportunities to earn up to $25 per hour based on performance
Responsibilities
  • Inspect gas meters and underground gas lines to detect leaks and corrosion.
  • Visually examine equipment and complete all necessary paperwork accurately.
  • Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and report any unusual findings correctly.
  • Perform duties during full-time Monday‑Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm shifts, with occasional overtime and weekend work.
  • Participate in paid, on‑the‑job training when no prior experience is available.

Physical and Other Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for long periods on various terrain types.
  • Walking between 3 and 4 miles per day on varying terrain in all weather conditions.
  • Use of a 5‑pound plunger bar to punch holes in the ground for gas concentration measurement.
  • Use of simple hand tools.
  • Work effectively both within a group and individually.
  • Ability to use and understand utility maps.
  • Proficiency with technology (smartphone, tablet).
  • Must pass a drug screen test, provide a valid driver’s license, and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Criminal background check required.
  • Must pass an operator qualification test as part of training.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Travel Requirements
  • Primarily local travel during the business day; occasional out‑of‑area travel and overnight stays may be required.
