The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) is seeking a results-oriented, dynamic and motivated individual for the position of Fire Base Administrator.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clerical/administrative support to Fire Base such as word processing, filing, compiling data, record keeping, bill payments and invoice processing.
  • Provide human resource information and direction to employees, i.e. attendance/time certificates, benefits and entitlements.
  • Provide administration for Emergency Fire Personnel and other duties as assigned.
  • Acquiring commissary and groceries to support district fire operations.
  • Work extended hours, weekends and travel to remote locations; may be required to work for up to 12 days in a row and temporarily assigned to other locations in the province; may also be required to fly in a small aircraft or helicopter.

Qualifications:

  • Completed a health evaluation according to SPSA policies/guidelines.
  • Possess a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan driver’s License.
  • Knowledge of computer programs such as word processing, Excel spreadsheets, internet, e-mail systems.
  • Familiarity with office equipment including computers, photocopiers and fax machines.
  • Knowledge of office duties including reception, filing, answering telephones, public inquiries, and correspondence.

Preferred Knowledge:

  • Computer programs such as word processing, Excel spreadsheets, internet, e-mail systems.
  • Office equipment including computers, photocopiers and fax machines.
  • Office duties including reception, filing, answering telephones, public inquiries, correspondence.

Knowledge of SPSA policies and procedures - purchasing, budget processing, accounting principles - as well as knowledge of human resource, Collective Agreement and benefits would be an asset.
