Purchasing Coordinator

Responsibilities Process and issue purchase orders in accordance with company policy and procedures
Set-up and maintain purchasing related master data within the ERP system
Manage expedites requests with suppliers
Manage past due purchase order follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of supply
Manage weekly open order reports with key suppliers
Vendor managed inventory program coordination and relationship management
Sourcing of indirect materials including shop and maintenance supplies, personal protective equipment (PPE), hardware, packaging etc.
Sourcing services related to maintenance, repair, and other manufacturing related services
Administrate the supplier onboarding process
Maintain and report on key purchasing metrics
Maintain the Purchasing team paper and electronic filing systems
Act as backup to the Supply Chain Coordinator
Other administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role
Bachelor's degree or college diploma in business or a related discipline
Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems required
Advanced computer software skills, MS Excel, Access, project management tools, etc.
Ability to multi-task under pressure in a high paced environment
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written in English
Results-oriented, self-motivated individual with a sense of initiative
Ability to work independently and as a team player while solving problems and multitasking in a deadline-driven environment
Ability to independently identify and develop solutions to problems that may arise in the course of work
Ability to respond effectively to inquiries or comments from internal/external customers and suppliers
Excellent knowledge of procurement best practices
Resourceful, diplomatic, customer service oriented
Strong analytical, decision-making, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
Well-developed organization and prioritization skills; detail oriented
Embraces changes with a positive attitude
Consistently demonstrates a high degree of business acumen and good judgment
Successful experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and suppliers; able to quickly gain credibility and trust
Demonstrates accountability; focused on meeting goals and deliverables on time and at the highest quality level possible
Is client-centric; proactively anticipates and actions internal customers’ needs
Successfully establishes and maintains long-term relationships with colleagues and suppliers
Must be highly focused and able to work with minimal supervision
APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional and/or Certified in Production and Inventory Management, SCMA Certified Supply Chain Professional or other supply chain related designation an asset
