Canadian Blood Services is seeking a strategic finance leader to serve as Associate Director, Strategic Finance Partnering. The role reports to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis and will provide embedded finance leadership to key portfolios such as Donor Relations, Collections, Supply Chain, Digital Solutions & Technology, Medical Affairs, and Research & Innovation.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead, coach, and develop a small team of Strategic Finance Partners.
Strengthen consistency in business partnering practices across portfolios.
Provide guidance on complex stakeholder issues and strategic analyses.
Shape design and adoption of decision‑support tools to translate financial information into business insights.
Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to executive leaders and teams.
Translate financial data into clear business insight, build financial acumen among leaders, and equip decision makers with tools to improve performance.
Bridge finance and operations, helping leaders understand trade‑offs, risks, opportunities, and financial implications of strategic choices.
Required qualifications and experience:
Extensive experience in financial planning and analysis within large, complex operational environments.
Deep expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, pricing, business case development, and performance analysis.
Ability to simplify complex financial concepts into actionable insights.
Strong relationship‑building skills, thriving in matrixed organizations and influencing across executive and operational teams.
Experience supporting operationally intensive environments such as manufacturing, healthcare, supply chain, or commercial operations is a strong asset.
Comfort coaching senior leaders, facilitating cross‑functional alignment, and mentoring finance professionals.
Thoughtful, collaborative leadership style grounded in accountability, continuous improvement, and partnership.
Excellent communication and storytelling skills, connecting financial insights to operational realities and driving action.
Energized by building new capabilities, elevating financial acumen, and contributing to a meaningful national mandate.
