Role Description
The Controller role at KUTHALA GROUP is a full-time, on-site position based in Georgetown, ON. The Controller will oversee all aspects of financial accounting and reporting, including general ledger management, month‑end and year‑end close, and preparation of internal and external financial statements. This role will manage budgeting and forecasting processes, monitor cash flow, and provide financial analysis to support strategic decisions across multiple business divisions.
The Controller will ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls, while working closely with operations, leadership, and external auditors. Day‑to‑day activities include supervising the accounting team, reviewing reconciliations and journal entries, optimizing financial systems and processes, and supporting special projects, audits, and risk management initiatives.
- Strong technical accounting skills, including full‑cycle accounting, financial reporting, and consolidation across multiple entities or divisions.
- Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cash flow management to support strategic and operational decision‑making.
- Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining internal controls, as well as ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax requirements.
- Advanced skills in accounting and ERP software, along with solid Excel and data analysis abilities to improve financial processes and reporting.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing and mentoring accounting teams, with effective communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation or equivalent professional certification is strongly preferred.
- Experience in multi‑division, asset‑intensive, or logistics/transportation environments is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving mindset, and ability to prioritize in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented organization.
