Location: Halton Hills
Lead the Planning Department at the Town of Halton Hills, a community known for its natural beauty, as the Commissioner of Planning. Provide strategic direction and innovative leadership in urban planning.
As a critical member of the Senior Management Team, the Commissioner of Planning reports directly to the Chief Administrative Officer. You will be responsible for implementing effective heritage strategies and evaluating development proposals in alignment with local and provincial regulations. Your leadership in formulating growth strategies will enhance high-quality services to residents and businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic leadership for the Planning Department
• Evaluate development proposals for policy conformity
• Implement effective growth and heritage strategies
• Prepare development agreements and service allocations
• Collaborate with senior management on corporate goals
Requirements:
• Four-year degree in Urban Regional Planning
• Membership in the CIP and OPPI, RPP certification
• 10-15 years in land use planning
• 8-10 years in senior management roles
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
