Heavy Equipment Operator

Position Overview

MGBHLM is seeking a Full Time Heavy Equipment Operator. The operator will work within the highest level of health and safety, complying with work‑safe regulations and contributing to the education of the community and seasonal laborers.

• Provide routine maintenance servicing for equipment, following guidelines in the equipment manual(s) and maintain service records.
• Self‑directed and self‑motivated; make decisions on the spot using common sense and collaboration.
• Perform each task on time and within project budget.
• Maintain all equipment and keep daily logs of equipment activities.
• Operate under safe work procedures and comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

• Good understanding of general maintenance and construction of road construction and equipment maintenance.
• Prioritize workload to support community needs.
• Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

• Heavy Equipment Operator Certification.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance.
• Clear verbal and written communication.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Safety conscious.
• Effective time management.
• Organize multiple tasks and projects.
• React to critical situations in a timely manner.
