Role

Purpose

The Site Services Lead Hand Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe operation of heavy equipment and theday-to-day coordination of site services crews supporting construction,maintenance, logistics, and camp infrastructure activities at the Coffee Project. This position provides frontline leadership, promotes a strong safetyculture, and ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.

Role Accountabilities
  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, graders, bulldozers, backhoes, skid steers, or other machinery.
  • Lead and coordinate daily activities of equipment operators and laborers.
  • Assign tasks and monitor work progress to ensure schedules are met.
  • Ensure safe work practices are followed by all crew members.
  • Conductpre-operational inspections and basic maintenance of equipment.
  • Identify equipment issues and coordinate repairs as needed.
  • Assist supervisors with planning work activities and resource allocation.
  • Train, mentor, and support new operators and crew members.
  • Complete required documentation, reports, and equipment logs.
  • Monitor job site conditions and communicate hazards or concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, environmental standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Support incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Reporting environmental concerns, incidents, spills, or non-compliance issues immediately.
Qualifications
  • High school diplomaor equivalent.
  • Valid driver'slicense (often Class 5, Class 3,Class 1, CDL, or equivalent, depending on jurisdiction).
  • Heavy equipment operator certification or demonstrated experience.
  • Experience operating excavators, loaders, graders, dozers, skid steers, telehandlers, water trucks, Man Lift, Kubota, 935 Loader, Rock Tucks, and other mobile equipment commonly used in mining and construction environments.
  • Previous leadership,lead hand, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of equipment operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read siteplans, drawings, and work orders.
  • Effective communication and team leadership skills.
Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 3 years operating heavy equipment.
  • Minimum 2-5 years ina Lead Hand, Crew Lead, or supervisory experience required
  • Experience in mining,heavy civil construction, or remote projects.
  • Demonstrated commitment tohealth, safety, and environmental stewardship.
  • Ensure compliance with site safety standards.
  • Conduct workplace inspections.
  • Participate in safety leadership initiatives.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to safely operate heavy and light mobile equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to sit,stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift,carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs (23 kg) on a regular basis.
