We’re looking for a Service Writer to join our dynamic Service team! Reporting to the Service Manager, the Service Writer plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the department through administrative precision, coordination, and exceptional customer service.
This is a vital position for keeping our service processes running smoothly—ensuring that customers receive top-tier service, work orders are processed efficiently, and administrative functions are completed with accuracy and care. WhatYou’ll Do (A Day In The Life)
- Prepare work orders for Service Manager review and approval.
- Support daily administrative functions for field, shop, internal, and warranty work.
- Help improve service operations and customer experience by streamlining workflows.
- Assist with technician dispatch in the absence of the Service Manager.
- Answer incoming calls to the Service Department and assist customers professionally.
- Enter technician time and job stories onto work orders.
- Ensure accurate coding for purchases and expenses; submit for approval and processing.
- Process technician expenses and prepare payroll entries for manager review.
- File and manage warranty claims for OEMs.
- Maintain service department filing systems and records.
- Monitor Work In Progress (WIP) and assist in achieving WIP targets.
- Close work orders upon authorization from the Service Manager/Supervisor.
- Perform additional duties or projects as assigned.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in time management and task prioritization.
- Comfortable with customer service, both over the phone and in-person.
- Solid understanding of financials and ability to assist with account issues.
- Effective multitasking under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience in service, repair shop, dealership, or equipment industry is an asset.
