Multimedia Communications Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Multimedia Communications Coordinator will develop, enhance and support all aspects of the District's website and social media platforms, and will ensure structural consistency among the District's individual school web pages and social media. This position works closely and collaboratively with other Communications & Community Engagement team members, multiple District departments, and numerous school site contacts.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of two years' experience in web content development and social media management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communication, Journalism or related field preferred.
  • Comfort level with filming video to capture stories.
  • Experience with marketing, social media, online campaigns and subscription features.
  • Experience in search engine optimization tactics and improving organic search engine results.
  • Graphic Design skills.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Handles day to day maintenance and operation of the Cartwright School District website.
  • Assists in supporting and enhancing the District's website (Blackboard CMS platform) and social media platforms to ensure accuracy and consistency among the District's webpage, individual school pages and social media platforms.
  • Develops content and maintains timeliness of the new district-wide web page and school web pages for the purpose of effectively and efficiently disseminating information to staff and the community.
  • Monitors and maintains continuous web and social media services to all district locations for the purpose of ensuring appropriate standards, accurate information and relevant content.
  • Works with district and school staff to ensure accuracy and development of online content to inform students, staff and families of school-related information.
  • Creates innovative graphic designs for the purposes of communicating to stakeholders and parents through the external newsletter and other marketing campaigns as assigned.
  • Implements advertising and marketing strategies on social media and in newsletters.
  • Tracks analytics and develops databases regarding web and social media traffic.
  • Assists Director and Administrator with crisis communication items through various web and social media platforms.
  • Stays informed about the most current technology and digital communications strategies.
  • Assists the Department with photography and videography as needed.
  • Positions in this class typically require: climbing, crawling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, pushing, reaching, lifting, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
  • Sedentary Work:
    Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

KNOWLEGE AND SKILLS
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of applicable Cartwright School District and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Web site structure and functionality.
  • Web design and content management systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of social media platforms and best practices.
  • Knowledge of graphics and audio/visual production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods.
  • Must adhere to strict confidentiality standards & professionalism.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; communicates professionally.
  • Understanding of writing for web and social media standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently to work toward critical deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented.
