Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop gas bar managers, supervisors and frontline team members, fostering a positive, inclusive, and performance-driven culture
  • Provide budget and financial operational leadership, training and direction during the budget process
  • Analyze customer trends, competitive activity, and seasonal demands; recommend strategies for improving service offerings and customer experience
  • Drive the division’s financial performance by supporting sales growth, margin management, and operational cost control
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple gas bar sites, ensuring consistent service delivery, safety, and operational efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with fuel handling regulations, hazardous goods requirements, and occupational health and safety legislation
  • Manage inventory for fuel, convenience store products, supplies, and propane exchange—ensuring accuracy, availability, and asset protection
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of new facility builds, major capital projects, and strategic acquisitions, ensuring seamless integration, operational readiness, and long-term value creation
  • Direct cross-functional teams through planning, execution, and commissioning of new builds and expansion projects, consistently delivering on time, on budget, and to spec
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary Diploma or Degree in a related field preferred or equivalent relevant work experience may be considered
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in retail, petroleum operations, convenience store management, or a related customer service environment
  • Strong understanding of fuel handling regulations, workplace safety, and operational best practices
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and meet operational and financial targets
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Valid class 5 driver’s licence
  • Strong computer and technical background, including effective working skills of the Microsoft suite and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
  • Proven effective communication skills; both verbal and written
  • Experience in a Co-op retail environment preferred
