Based in Brandon, MB, this position is responsible for overseeing food‑service operations, including training staff, handling guest concerns, supporting administrative duties such as ordering, filling in at stations as required, and ensuring overall success of the operations.
Kitchen Supervisor will work alongside the Chef to plan and develop menus and recipes for the café. You will assist in overseeing day‑to‑day operations and demonstrate a positive teamwork attitude and a passion for fresh scratch cooking.
Your Work Will Include- Put processes in place and monitor staff performance to ensure all required health and safety regulations and procedures are followed, including:
- Provide on‑the‑job training to staff to apply knowledge on the job site.
- Ensure staff use techniques conveyed during training and properly use all tools, supplies, and equipment (e.g., knives, ovens, cleaning materials).
- Ensure employees have proper personal protective equipment (e.g., non‑slip shoes, cut‑resistant gloves) and that they are used correctly.
- Notify appropriate parties of malfunctioning or equipment needing repair.
- Make sure the location and staff operate within Food Safe and/or Serve Safe standards and all applicable legislation and company policies.
- Communicate operational changes to staff clearly so they can be implemented effectively.
- Work with the Chef and kitchen staff to control costs by taking measures such as:
- Perform physical inventories and maintain the appropriate stock level at the unit.
- Maintain food rotation in storage to minimize spoilage and waste.
- Control portioning of food items to ensure recipe yield meets quantity and budget expectations.
- Suggest dishes that take advantage of seasonal availability.
- Provide recommendations to the Chef Manager regarding budget requirements for the assigned area, maximizing profit while reducing expenditures.
- Coordinate ordering supplies with the Chef.
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation during food preparation in all areas, including kitchen, fridges, freezers, front and back of house, and related equipment.
- Schedule and coordinate staff shifts and work assignments, considering business needs and staff skills and abilities.

Qualifications- Passionate and committed individual looking for growth.
- 3 years’ experience in the hospitality/food service industry.
- Knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, GFS, Outlook).
- Knowledge of menu and labor costing.
- Effective leadership style, positive outgoing personality, and effective listening skills.
