Location: Virden

What you’ll do:

The Agronomist works to acquire knowledge and experience to establish credibility and to develop ongoing, profitable sales relationships with the Co-operative’s customers. Contributes to the overall success of the Agro team through support and cross promotion of Farm & Ranch and Petroleum services and products. Key responsibilities are but not limited to:

  • Assist with crop scouting, soil sampling, and custom application services
  • Support agronomy sales by learning how to engage with customers and identify opportunities
  • Provide basic agronomic recommendations with guidance from senior staff
  • Help organize and participate in grower meetings, crop tours, and training sessions
  • Maintain customer lists and assist with inventory and documentation
  • Learn about marketing and promotion of Crop Supplies services
  • Follow safety standards and assist with general facility care
  • Who you Bring:

    You are looking for a career in agriculture, and you have:

  • Currently enrolled in an Agriculture-related program
  • Interest in agricultural sales, agronomy, and crop management
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work in the field and travel to customer sites as needed
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Eagerness to pursue certifications like CCA or MIA in the future
