Valleyview Consumers Co-op is seeking an experienced Sales Agronomist at their main location in Virden, Manitoba, where you will work closely with farmers to deliver expert agronomic solutions to their issues. Valleyview Consumers Co-op is deeply rooted in the community, spanning 11 locations across Manitoba.

About the Role

The Sales Agronomist is a customer-focused role responsible for growing agronomy sales by building strong, trusted relationships with producers. Working directly with growers, this position identifies agronomic challenges, delivers practical input recommendations, and drives sales of seed, fertilizer, crop protection, custom application, and crop supplies services.

What you’ll do:
  • Develop long-term customer relationships as a trusted agronomic advisor
  • Build and manage a customer list through proactive customer contact and follow-up
  • Execute sales plans aligned with retail goals and inventory strategies
  • Grow sales and margins across seed, fertilizer, and crop protection products
  • Deliver timely crop scouting and recommendations that lead to product and service sales
  • Promote bundled agronomy solutions, including drone scouting, custom application and soil sampling
  • Support customer events, grower meetings, crop tours, and product demonstrations
  • Cross‑sell Farm & Ranch and Petroleum products and services
  • Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally
What you Bring:
  • Degree or Diploma in Agriculture
  • 3‑6 years of ag sales experience and/or agronomy
  • Strong relationship‑building and sales skills
  • Confident, practical approach to agronomic problem‑solving
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Pesticide Applicator’s License, WHMIS, TDG, and Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
  • CCA or Manitoba Institute of Agronomists (MIA) designation (or willingness to complete)
