Purpose of PositionThe Carpenter works with the Maintenance team while maintaining and upgrading the appearance of BSD buildings. The position is responsible for ensuring a safe work environment, performing repairs; designing/building cabinets and other construction projects; and maintaining equipment, locks, and door hardware.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesAre established by the Supervisor of Facilities within the parameters of the job profile.
Required Qualifications- Requires specific trade/carpentry knowledge including the ability to build, repair, renovate, maintain, and install carpentry and cabinets.
- Two (2) years experience in cabinet making.
- Class 5 Driver's License.
- WHMIS training/certification.
- Effective basic computer skills.
- Effective basic reading, writing and mathematical skills.
- Effective moderate interpersonal and communication skills.
- Journeyperson Cabinet Maker Certification.
