Location: Dauphin

Dean Cooley GM is a Chevrolet, Buick and GMC dealer located in Dauphin, MB, serving the Parkland area. The dealership offers a full after‑sales suite, including service, parts, accessories and a collision centre. We are seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Automotive Collision Paint Technician to join our collision repair team.

Collision Centre Technician – Pay rate: $50, per year – Opened 05/21/2025

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complete and spot refinishing of vehicle surfaces using proper techniques and equipment.
  • Prepare panels and surfaces for paint application through sanding, masking, priming, and cleaning.
  • Mix and match paint colors using computerized systems or manual methods to ensure accurate color blending.
  • Apply undercoats, basecoats, and clear coats using spray guns in a controlled environment.
  • Inspect finished surfaces for imperfections and perform final polishing or corrections as needed.
  • Work closely with body technicians, estimators, and other team members to ensure a seamless repair process.
  • Maintain and clean all paint equipment, spray booths, and work areas.
  • Follow all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Stay updated with new paint products, equipment, and refinishing techniques.
Qualifications
  • Red Seal Certification or Journeyman Painter (or in‑progress apprentice) preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in automotive refinishing or collision repair.
  • Proficiency in colour matching, paint mixing systems, and spray booth operation.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high‑quality finishes.
  • Familiarity with automotive painting tools and safety equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Working Conditions
