Mechanics Helper

King Spud Potato Transport ltd
is currently looking for a shop helper or entry level mechanic to join our team! We are a large scale trucking business located just outside of Carberry Manitoba that hauls all the bulk potatoes to McCain Portage and Carberry locations daily. We offer a small town, friendly work environment where you are known by your first name and not a number.

• Must have basic mechanical knowledge and some experience in the truck and trailer industry
• Must have a strong desire to learn about fixing trucks and trailers and gain experience
• Help maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed by completing all daily paperwork and work orders
• Repair or replace damaged components on all safety work, such as brakes, suspension systems, and lights.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, greases, filter changes and tire rotations
• Have strong attention to detail to ensure repairs are done correctly
• Be able to work alone efficiently or in a group setting
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
• Being able to weld is an asset but not required.
• Must have valid class 5 license and a class one is an asset but not required.
• Work on Semis , trailers as well as farm and small fleet equipment.
• Change tires using our fully automatic tire machine
• General daily task such as yard maintenance.
• Operate loaders and skid steer as needed

• Full time work , Monday to Friday all year long . Regular work hours are 8 am - 5pm. extra hours are available if needed.

King Spud hauls on average 60 loads a day and at peak season ( harvest) over 100 . We have over 40 units that require a punctual, reliable individual to help us maintain, fix and keep on the road safely.
