We are seeking a friendly and organized full time Front Desk receptionist to be the welcoming face of our Dermatology office. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive and efficient experience for our clients. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask, and a passion for providing exceptional customer service.
Bilingual (Spanish) candidates are preferred.
- Greet and assist patients with a warm and welcoming demeanor.
- Manage patient check‑ins and check‑outs, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and respond to inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
- Coordinate and schedule patient appointments using the office's scheduling system.
- Confirm upcoming appointments and provide necessary pre‑visit instructions.
- Maintain an organized and up‑to‑date appointment calendar.
- Assist with patient registration and ensure accurate completion of necessary paperwork.
- Verify and update patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Handle insurance verification and assist with billing inquiries.
- Collaborate with medical and administrative staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Manage and maintain the reception area, keeping it clean, organized, and inviting.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, as well as other general administrative tasks.
- Provide information and directions to patients, creating a comfortable and stress‑free environment.
- Address patient concerns and elevate issues to the appropriate staff when necessary.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and uphold privacy standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a medical office or dermatology setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and basic office software.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast‑paced environment.
- A customer‑focused attitude with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
- Ability to handle patient concerns and inquiries with patience and empathy.
Must be able to spend a great deal of the day walking, standing, moving and manipulating equipment, as well as lifting and moving objects, equipment and supplies. It is reasonable to anticipate lifting 20-25 pounds in any given day.
