Summary:
The Specialist, Staffing, will be responsible for scheduling and conducting eligibility staffings and IEP meetings. The Specialist, Staffing, will interpret programs and placements to parents, assist with district, state, and federal record reviews, and will monitor the district's compliance with rules and regulations. Responsibilities:
Demonstrates a strong working knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the State Board of Education Rules. Assists schools with staffing procedures; reviews and monitors ESE records; assists with Department of Education audits. Assists with the implementation of district policies and procedures for students with disabilities. Coordinates with Exceptional Student Education (ESE) personnel to improve, refine, and develop staffing procedures in accordance with federal and state laws.
Facilitates meetings with parents, agencies, and school personnel to address the identification and placement of students with disabilities. Arbitrates in school-level staffing, when necessary. Reviews and monitors ESE records and assists in required Department of Education audits. Performs any other duties as assigned. Experience:
Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in ESE classroom teaching, with two (2) years of related management or supervisory experience required. Educational Leadership experience preferred. Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:
