Job Summary and Qualifications

We are currently looking for an ambitious Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team on a PRN basis. As a COTA on our team, you will assist with the coordination of patient‑centered and occupational‑based goals to ensure diagnostic and therapeutic services and rehabilitation which are provided to our patients. If you are dedicated to caring for the well‑being of others, this could be your next opportunity.

Your duties and responsibilities may include:

  • Accurately follow established treatment plan to set measurable and achievable goals to reach maximum functional independence for Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs)
  • Record, monitor, and review clinical data, providing feedback to Occupational Therapist regarding possible modifications to treatment plan and goals based upon patient performance
  • Within scope of practice and under the direction of the Occupational Therapist, adapt recognized therapeutic techniques and modalities to meet the needs of the patient
  • Participate in rounding and proactively respond to patient needs to improve patient outcomes and positively affect overall patient experience

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from a school accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association
  • Experience in appropriate healthcare setting; acute‑care setting preferred
  • Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (OTA)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills; ability to read/comprehend written instructions; ability to follow verbal instructions; PC skills
