Job Summary and Qualifications This full-time CT Technologist opportunity supports our free-standing ER department. CT Technologists in our free-standing ERs are also responsible for x-rays. We are seeking a Florida-licensed CT Technologist on a full-time basis who can competently perform imaging across the following areas: brain, total spine, facial, sinus, orbits, thorax, abdomen, pelvis, upper and lower extremities, sella, and biopsies.
Responsibilities- Select proper technical factors for each study and perform diagnostic CT examinations accurately in a caring, compassionate, and respectful manner
- Demonstrate sound operational knowledge of the CT scanner, pressure injector, resuscitation equipment, laser filmer, and teleradiology system
- Assist in the administration of contrast media and related procedures
- Prepare, transfer, and position patients as needed, ensuring modesty and safety while using auxiliary equipment and devices
- Document pertinent clinical information prior to exams, obtain informed consent, and complete required fields within MEDITECH accurately and on time
- Obtain high-quality CT images and ensure only optimal images are submitted for interpretation
- Maintain proficiency with software protocols and stay current with field changes through in-service studies, courses, or seminars
- Maintain proactive communication with patients and other caregivers, including the radiologist
- Check equipment operation, maintain cleanliness, prevent cross-contamination, and stock rooms with linens and supplies
- Agree to on-call / call-back responsibilities as needed to provide optimum patient care
- High School Diploma or equivalency plus college/technical training
- Valid ARRT (CT) certification
- Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to perform work requiring frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, lifting up to 100 lbs
- Minimum of 1 year current/recent CT Technologist experience, preferably in an acute-care hospital setting
