- Assists with transport of patients.
- Performs any variation of the job that is directly related to the function of an orthopedic technician.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- Assists the orthopedic surgeons requested.
- Participates in Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Indicator (QI) as assigned.
- Performs patient rounds, charting, charging, regular cleaning of equipment and in service education that is directly related to the orthopedic technician service.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Licensure/CertificationSuccessful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school (or at least one (1) year of verifiable and applicable work experience as a Certified Medical Assistant in a patient care setting) required.
- Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification - and
- Maintains current certification or registration by one of the following agencies
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by National Health career Association (NHA) ()
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).)
- Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) by the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) ()
- National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) by National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) ()
- Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) or Nationally Registered Certified Advanced Medical Assistant (NRCAMA) by the National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) ()
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by American Medical Technologists (AMT) (), the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA) (), or by American Allied Health (AAH) ()
- Applicants with an accepted Medical Assistant certification or registration from an agency not listed will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
