Job Summary and QualificationsWe are currently looking for an enthusiastic Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team on a full-time basis. As a PTA on our team, you will provide treatment and rehabilitative services to patients to improve mobility, relieve pain and disability under the direction of a Physical Therapist. Your duties and responsibilities may include:
- Conduct patient education, including post-care planning, proper use of supportive devices and equipment, and gait and functional training.
- Record, monitor, analyze and review clinical data;
Provide feedback to therapist regarding possible modifications to treatment plan and goals based upon patient performance;
Adapt recognized therapeutic techniques and modalities to meet the needs of the patient. - Collaborate with patient service departments and community service agencies to coordinate and conduct educational outreach programs and learning activities.
- Utilize appropriate methods and material for effective learning, monitor response to education and adapt program as needed.
Requirements:
- Associate degree in an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
- Clear/active State of Florida Physical Therapy Assistant license
- Current Functional Independence Measure (FIM) required
- Experience in appropriate healthcare setting – inpatient rehab – preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Critical thinking and adaptability; services excellence and good interpersonal communication skills; ability to read/comprehend written instructions; ability to follow verbal and written instructions; general PC skills
- Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds
